The Bloggers Most Overlooked Blogging Tool!

February 7th, 2010 ritzy No comments

======================================================

I heard the Australian Author Clive James say “He turns a phrase to catch the shine on it”.

What is it about words and the way we use them that makes such a dramatic difference to the way in which they are perceived? With new modern scientific advancement in technology, new frontiers are daily opening up our understanding of our mind and the way we live within our world.

What’s this to do with blogging? Well…

Scientists are now discovering what writers have known all along; words are not only understood but also felt! Our understanding and perception of words is influenced by our past and present experiences.

For example if I said “flushed”; what’s your immediate thought that comes to mind?

Would it be a picture of some horrid thing getting flushed away down the drain?

That experience of your last embarrassing or awkward moment?

Some juvenile emotion when meeting your teenage heart throb idol?

Could it be that intimate expression with your loved one or the idea of some heat flush caused by menopause?

You see your interpretation could be different for each stage of experience from your life.

The words we use make word pictures. We feel words and certain words form pictures in our minds.

I love the word “crisp” for instance, the crunch of fresh lettuce. A still winter’s morning, with snow hanging on the trees while breathing dragons breathe with each new exhale. Crunching on my favourite potato chip.  For you “crisp could mean something more?

Blogging is all about conveying thoughts, dreams, desires, experiences and ideas through the words we choose to best describe them. So the bottom line as a blogger; you need to identify who your prospect reader is and tailor your blog post to speak to them at their level.

Starting A Blog In The Self Improvement Niche?

January 16th, 2010 ritzy 3 comments

I remember before I first started this blog I could not decide what niche to write about. Since I was wanting to learning how to start a blog, I thought “I know, I will just blog about what I am busy with”! I was interested in blogging and reckoned on other people also wanting to learn how to start. I could blog about my growth, with all my mistakes and show others how to do it and avoid my errors.

As I found new information so I had new material to share. It was fun and exciting as I overcame new daily challenges. Now if you are thinking of going into the self improvement niche, I have something to share with you, but more of that in a moment.

Thinking about what you want to blog about can be a biggy. Do I have enough knowledge about this subject? Are there people interested in this to make my blog popular, so to make it worth my while? What benefit will I give to my readers? Will I continue to enjoy blogging about this? These are some of the questions that were running through my mind at the time. Perhaps these are some of your thoughts at the moment? If yes I have some great ideas to help you with.

I have come to realise how vast the self improvement industry is and the huge need there is out there…

Take for instance the searches made on Google for depression and anxiety. See for your self;

Go to: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and type into the search box ”anxiety”. There are over 2 million searches made on Google alone. In this financial unstable time, there is a huge need for help in this area.

Do you think your blog could be popular if you could help people in this area? Perhaps you may have suffered from anxiety at some point in your life and can empathise with others.  What did you do to get over this? Could you write about this? Do you think that you could monetize your blog in this area? Sure you could, there is a huge demand for these types of products!

Or have you or are you trying to quit smoking? Have you ever suffered from low self esteem? As you can see the list just goes on. There is little wonder that this subject of “self improvement” is a multi billion dollar industry and could be well worth your while.

To make it even easier for you to get your own quality products to promote on your blog, my partner has just released a Self Improvement- Private Label Products site;  PLR-Self Improvement.com. With these newly released information products; you can sell, break them down into lots of smaller blog posts, use them as articles to publish and brand yourself on other sites. In fact you could do basically do what you want with it.

For anyone starting out in the self Improvement niche this is a great opportunity to get for yourself further ideas and materials to blog and promote. Just click this link and you will be taken straight there: http://plr-selfimprovement.com/

To your continued success.

Need Ideas For Your Niche To Build Your Blog Around?

December 20th, 2009 ritzy No comments

Things to consider when starting your blog website.

Just like getting your domain name and blog title right , fore thought needs to be given on your blog subject or niche???

The BIG question is: What are you interested in? What is your passion? Setting up your own blog should be seen as a long term project, with long term commitment for it to be effective. Good content has to be continuously added, to bring your readers back for more. This takes dedication on your part, so share what you are passionate about. This makes it fun, as you share what you love.  Doing this brings vibrancy and enthusiasm to your blog… Because you love what you write about, you have much to share. No writers block in this area!!!

It is normally best to keep your blog to a specific subject or focused niche

Finding the right niche within your passion is also key. Do a Google search for a “free key word tool”. Type in your niche name and see how many searches per month are made for this term. This will give you an idea on how popular that is. Most tools will also give other suggested phrases to think about to use as your base.

By making your blog focused on a certain niche helps the search engines source relevant content for it’s users who are looking for information. If you can give them what they are looking for, the search engines will match you up and bring visitors to your website. The more visitors the more successful your blog will become…

Blog Names- 5 Points To Consider In Naming Your Blog.

October 13th, 2009 ritzy 1 comment

As a Newbie you need to decide what to name your blog or business. This is very important as this lays the foundation to your future success. What will Your Blog or business be Known By? This is the name by which people in your niche will know you by, so get it right by choosing wisely.

A huge mistake was made when this blog was named for example; The domain name “How To List Build” has very little relevance to “Newbies how to Start A Blog or Website”. The journey to this blogs success, with the Search Engines could have been quicker and more effective had the domain name been more focused on the blog content. There needs to be a relationship between the domain name and your websites purpose.

5 Points To Consider In Choosing Your Blog Naming.

-1. First decide what you want you want to do, write about, or go into business for and why ?

-2. Make your domain name short and catchy, a name that sticks in the mind of your audience.

-3. Choose a name that is relevant to what you want your blog, business or passion to be about.

-4. Branding and the importance of promoting an image. What’s in a name?

-5. Finding the right name that has not already been chosen. A .com is the name of choice but all the good names are mostly not available.

1. Decide what it is you want and why? If you get this wrong at the start, it is very difficult to change your domain name at a later stage, without losing out on all the work it took to establish your site. Have a clear idea on what your blogs purpose will be and then choose an appropriate domain name for it. It is important to get this right.

2. Make your domain name as short and as catchy as possible. It must be easily spelt, remembered and to the point. It has to stick in people’s minds like “Coke- Google- Twitter- BMW and so on.

3.  It should also include a key word that you want to target, so that the search engines can find, in order to index your website. A good name for this blog should have been: “NewbiesBlog.com”. This tells the search engines like Google what this site is about, so it can find relevant content for it’s searchers.

4. Branding a simple, short and sweet name is a lot easier than a mouthful, hard to remember one. A misspelt word will not find your site. CraigsList is sometimes spelt CraigesList, this takes you to another unknown one. Take this into consideration…

5. Finding the right name becomes a headache when you decide on a name, but none can be found that are now available from “.Com”.  A new Company has started, a “.WS” site selling .ws names (short for WebSite) Because it is new most of the names are still available for you to chose from. This is prime real-estate. Here is the address to go to:

Do You Own And Use A New Word Press 2.8.4 Blog???

September 10th, 2009 ritzy No comments

“To Those Who Use The New Version Of A Word Press Blog…
and wondering why you are not getting Search Engine Traffic???

I have just been told about and discovered that the default setting in WP 2.8.4 made
another of my blogs invisible to the search engines.

Apparently the blog’s privacy mode is set to “I would like to
block search engines, but allow normal visitors” by default. This
will disable the pinglist update box.

This means that no pinging will happen whenever a new entry is
posted and this is important for SE indexing purpose.

But this can be easily correct. Just go to Settings, Privacy and
choose the correct option for your blog.

If you intend to install new blogs using WordPress 2.8.4
(including using the Fantastico tool in CPanel), make sure you
reset the privacy to the first option.
Go into your blog settings now and check

How To Find The Best Within Yourself To Write About, Creating Great Blog Posts?

September 3rd, 2009 ritzy No comments

Have you ever found that the more you strive and push for something, the more unproductive you become? Or finding inspiration to write your posts can be challenging in times of a looming deadline. Breaking those dry periods to find fresh motivation for growth and insight comes from within. Here are 3 tips to help you tap into your own creative and productive well for great blog posts.

1. Take time out to reflect and day dream at least once during your day.

No one can operate at full steam 9 hours a day with out losing peak performance. You have natural cycles of high and low mental activity, so snatching 10 minutes in this trough to recharge, reinvigorates the mind. Allowing it to take stock, prioritise and give a fresh perspective to your thoughts. Working with your natural energy rhythm, to ebb and flow through out the day, brings out your hidden abilities just waiting to be uncovered. This is sometimes frowned upon, thought slothful and unproductive, but to find those hidden gems this is your creative and inspiring source.

2. Prepare your mind before taking a break.

Run through in your mind what you want to do. Visualise the end result, goal or objective that you want. Keep a note book and pen handy to jot down any passing thought that might come and then relax, by allowing your self to drift away for a few minutes. Become aware of your breathing, the rise and fall of your chest that happens on its own, your rhythmic heart beat and the pulse of blood flowing through your body. By following this tip allows you to connect with your subconscious mind that continues to work for you, to find those answers, insights and ideas that you were not aware were there. Allow your mind to drift and wander while being aware of any ideas in the periphery of your conscience.

3. Write down or capture these thoughts in some form or other.

Even some remote idea that could easily be dismissed could prove useful or is key to some lateral thinking process, only realised later. Keep an open mind here and who knows new widows of clarity could be found.

How To Start Your Own Blog?

August 13th, 2009 ritzy 1 comment
You have one of two choices when starting your own blog:

a. You can use a Free blog website.

or,

b. You can create your “Own” blog website with domain name and blog hosting account.

a. Free blog website can be started very quickly and easily by just typing into your web browser “free blog website” for an Internet search. A whole list of free sites will be generated, offering free blog sites, from posting your photos, videos or diary journals to book, movie, music reviews. You can post what you like within certain rules, that can vary from site to site.

Decide on a site that you would like to sign up with, read and confirm that you have read their rules and away you go. All the instructions are normally there for you to follow. These sites are very user friendly, some have forums or support desks to turn to if you get stuck.

b. How to start your “Own” blog website, incorporating your domain name and blog hosting account. Here it is more advanced but the good news, there is lots of help on the Internet if you learn to type the right questions into your search browser. Questions you may ask could include the following:

“How do I decide on a domain name?” “Buy a domain name” “Web hosting account” “How Do I transfer my domain name to hosting account” ” How to set up a wordpress blog” “How to install a Akismet plug in” (This will catch all unwanted spam filling your comment folder).

What ever the question there is always an answer on today’s web. So go ahead and get started on your own blog.
