“To Those Who Use The New Version Of A Word Press Blog…
and wondering why you are not getting Search Engine Traffic???

I have just been told about and discovered that the default setting in WP 2.8.4 made
another of my blogs invisible to the search engines.

Apparently the blog’s privacy mode is set to “I would like to
block search engines, but allow normal visitors” by default. This
will disable the pinglist update box.

This means that no pinging will happen whenever a new entry is
posted and this is important for SE indexing purpose.

But this can be easily correct. Just go to Settings, Privacy and
choose the correct option for your blog.

If you intend to install new blogs using WordPress 2.8.4
(including using the Fantastico tool in CPanel), make sure you
reset the privacy to the first option.
Go into your blog settings now and check

If you are not using this system then you are bleeding your profits.

You have decided you want to “own” your own blog website for various reasons. The good news is it’s a very simple exercise and takes either one of two routes depending on the type of blog you want. 

1. For a personal blog where you want to simply sit at your key board and write a burp to what’s on your mind. This takes nothing more than going to:  http://www.blogger.com  to sign up for a new account, then follow their instructions and away you go.

2. For the more serious blogger who is interested in promoting them selves or their business the second route is recommended that will take time, effort and a little expense in buying a domain name, finding a web-host with a WordPress account (Recommended For Blogging) and setting up this way. To do it properly you have 3 options;

A. Decide to get a professional to set one up for you. The easy but expensive way as you will always depend on outside sources for further help as you will know little of the workings behind the scenes. 

B. Learn the ropes using all the free material on the Internet, such as http://www.youtube.com training videos to progress using a trail and error strategy. This is the cheapest method but most time consuming as you step through a mine field of the unexpected.

C. Learn through video to be taken by the hand in a step by step process, showing you the recommended resources, what to do and how to use them for the best blogging results. Putting a blog up is only half of the equation, the other half is setting it up to get visitors to know and come visit, called “traffic building“.

To help you set up your own website and autoresponder mailing list system, a membership site I recommend is the one that helped me set mine up. Your first months membership cost I think is $1. Try it out and see how easy it is to follow step by simple step video instruction. If you do not like what you see- cancel your subscription.

We all want more Blog traffic and the best solution that I have found is using this simple yet effective three pronged attack using blog posts, articles and Twitter.

1. Adapting my best blog post into +- 300 word articles.

2. Publishing these articles on ezine directories that have Twitter feed.

3. Actively building a Twitter following.

More on each of these:

1. Publishing articles in a popular Ezine such as www.ezinearticles.com is a great way to exponentially explode your exposure and expertise to people interested in your topic. Why? Because they are searching for information in that category. A targeted prospect interested in your topic… Search engines such as Google have much regard for articles published here. One article of mine has being read by over 750 viewers since December and is still working for me.

2. Publishing these articles on ezine directories that have Twitter feed. Some ezines, (in the author tools section) manages your Twitter details in order to broadcast to your followers your newly published article details. Of course when they read it, in the resource box you lace it with a compelling offer to visit your blogs squeeze page for your news letter.

3. Actively building a Twitter following. On Twitter you can find an enormous amount of interested people in your niche or passion topic. These again are a targeted audience that you want frequenting your blog… so go out and follow them. What normally happens they reciprocate back. A great force to use.

These three elements, blogs, articles and Twitter are what I am concentrating on now that gets me my blog traffic.

For instance, a host giant like www.xanga.com provides a great chance to start a blog on your own; it is a good opportunity for anyone interested in joining a world-wide community that shares pictures, videos, thoughts and points of view. Furthermore, you’ll also get precious information from many domains.

Another such great host site is www.myspace.com where you may register your blog under a variety of categories depending on the theme and topic. There is a wide selection of users and definitely good quality traffic if you make the blog worth visiting.

For those who want to make some money with their blogs, by advertising, I strongly recommend www.adsense.com, a Google-joint program that enables bloggers to make a really good income. How come? On this site you closely follow all the necessary steps to choose the ads (both images and text) that best match your blog content.

Blogging takes time and effort, and you can definitely avoid some mistakes other pros warn against by permanently inquiring on new stratagems to use with Adsense; after all you have to make as much money as you can.
